The inspiration for this piece came from a skipping CD. The chorus line of the disco tune 'That’s the way I like it' was chopped up into short fragments, the order of the fragments rearranged and the result written out as a score. The score was performed live and recorded by a group of nine musicians.

The recording was pressed on a vinyl EP containing a number of run-out grooves. After playing for sometime the needle unvariably ends up stuck in one of these run-out grooves. A technical glitch, which acted as the original stimulus for the piece, is thus reintroduced as a compositional feature of a new medium, blurring the line between mechanical loop and organic repetition.
